This digestor features individual ceramic heater modules for each tubeproviding efficient, uniform heat transfer. Unlike aluminum block designs, ceramic models have virtually the same coefficient of heat expansion as the digestion tube. This means more rapid destruction of organic material resulting in faster digestions. Digestion times range from 25 to 45 minutes depending on sample type and catalyst. Each heater accepts up to four 250-mL digestion tubes. Ceramic heater assembly is housed in a chemically etched aluminum casing with two fold-down handles. An automatic monitoring system has one external light that blinks red when digestor reaches preset temperature. The digestor heats to 410F (210C) in less than one hour.
