3M™ Cloth Roll 461F features a very sharp silicon carbide mineral that offers a great initial and sustained cut. It is bonded to a sateen-type, fully waterproof polyester cloth backing. If needed, the abrasive can be run wet or dry. The resin bond provides excellent mineral anchorage and high shelling resistance.

Silicon carbide is a very hard, sharp and brittle mineral commonly used for low-pressure applications such as paint prep, the final stages of whitewood sanding and grinding applications on metal. Finer grades (P120 through P600) have an XF weight polyester backing. Coarser grades (P36 through P100) have a YF weight polyester backing. Regardless of grade or weight, cloth abrasives are known for both durability and agility. They can respond to workpiece contours without wearing and tearing easily.
