AccuTrace Cable Route Tracer
Traces energized and de-energized lines using inductive or conductive coupling|Easily locate and trace any conductive line such as cable, pipe, or metallic conduit|Trace buried lines without uncovering or de-energizing?no metal-to-metal connection required for inductive coupling method|Peak- and null-tracing capability ensure accuracy|Extremely lightweight?minimizes user fatigue when used for extended periods of time|1 year warranty|Use the AccuTrace cable tracer to locate and find any conductive lines using conductive or inductive coupling methods. The tracer consists of a transmitter which energizes the line with a traceable signal and a receiver which detects the signal. Line can be energized either by direct connection to the metallic line (conductive) or magnetic induction from a built-in antenna. A conductively energized line increases the tracing distance and minimizes signal coupling to other lines. Since no direct connection is required for inductive coupling, it can be used to trace buried lines without the need to uncover or de-energize the line. The AccuTrace cable tracer is lightweight and easy to use. The transmitter features a simple LO/HI pushbutton for adjusting the transmitted signal strength and a PULSE button for battery conservation and easy identification of the signal. The receiver features a detection head, lighted graph display, speaker, audio output port, battery indicator, and the operating controls. A telescoping swivel-mounted antenna on the receiver detects the radiated signals from the transmitter. Set the antenna in any of the three operating positions, vertical, horizontal, or 45? for ease of use. Both audible and visual indicators provide detected signal strength. For fast measurements and great accuracy, use the peak (detection of the maximum signal) and null (detection of the minimum, zero signal) tracing mode on the receiver. Set to peak tracing mode to find the cable at the start of the trace and to identify cable location when conditions make null tracing effective. Null tracing is very fast and can be used to identify sharp directional changes.
